I know I'm late doing this but anyway...

Our gingerbreadhouse-projects have gone from little lavvu's to gingerbread-robots. It's come to that point where people are waiting to see what becomes of our project at Christmas-time, and this year was no different. So we figured we'd WOW them.

So we set out to make Hogwarts, from Harry Potter. Its a huge project, and one that certainly have some challenges to it; the biggest one being the Hogwarts Tower, that is the trademark Hogwarts building. Its huge. And round. And we'd have to make it in gingerbread, because we're not on Cake Boss and we don't use non-edible parts.

Day 1: Made our own blueprint and template for the buildings. Lots of studying the photos, discussing the looks and the easiest way to do things (and the prettiest) some

mathematical equations... As my mom said it; "If you're still friends after this, I'm impressed". Turns out we're a pretty impressive lot! Jerry and Lise in picture.

Day 2: Cut out the pieces. Yeah. It took a day and "some kilos" of gingerbread-dough. Which

thankfully my mom have perfected through the

years! We left them to cool off in the hallway, where we kept the hallway-window open. I was so paranoid that some hungry crows would come peck at them, but thankfully they left us alone.

Of course the pieces for the different houses are sorted on each their paper. All the long "sticks" are the towers, in varying sizes.

Day 3: Assembly time! Now this is usually where we laugh, cry and hate ourselves and each other. But it went well. It was a very long day though, I think we worked on it for about 10 hours. Jerry got the daunting task of making the peak of the Hogwarts Tower which is too big for a Ice cream-cone to fit on. But it has to be edible (even if we'd never actually eat it), else its cheating. Solution? Ice cream-cone + marshmallows and Rice Crispies, glued together with melted sugar. We then coated all the rooftops with Marzipan colored to fit the Hogwarts roofs Green-blueish color.

Day 4: Decorating! Usually we have 1-2 units to decorate, so decoration usually becomes spectacular, if I may say so myself. I was a bit worried we'd be bored and sloppy at the end of this, but we were all so invested in the project that we managed to keep it together. In spite of some problems with the piping.

Admission: We did use ONE non-edible part. A Porcelain Button my mom had lying that had a clock printed on it. We thought it fit beautifully on the clock tower.

Day 5: Making of the Figurines. Gumpaste.

Day 6: Making it all come together! Making sure the light-fixtures fit. Icing the whole board that we used as support to make it look like snow. (Cotton's too main-stream, man!)

Corsair Vengeance k90

I got my new mechanical keyboard, the Corsair Vengeance K90. Here's my thoughts on it.

First of all, it just darn right looks sweet. The Brushed Aluminium looks sweet, and it feels sturdy and nice, not plasticy. But its still pretty light, which is kind of a suprisingly big deal when you, like me, often end up with the keyboard on the lap during long gaming sessions. Here's one thing I'm not used to though, the G-buttons. While I am a MMO gamer I've never felt the need for the Macro-buttons, so the added space on the side makes it a bit weird to balance it on the lap; but it's just something to get used to really.

Another thing to just get used to is actual typing. I bought the mechanical keyboard actually for that very reason, I wanted the Cherry MX Red switches so it'd be better for my silly fingers to type long articles and interviews (or blogposts for that matter..) like I do now and again. While the mechanical keyboards are great for gaming, that was actually second in priority for me. If it had been first priority, I'd look for Cherry MX Black or Browns.

However what I found when I started using it was that it felt weird typing on, but friggin fantastic to game on. You notice it so quickly. And if you don't feel it right away, the F-buttons are "regular" Rubber-domes, so clicking the mechanical vs the rubber domes, you really feel how much easier and comfortable the mechanical ones are.

The fact that its a bit strange typing on is probably just something I need to adapt to. The idea is that you're not supposed to push the buttons all the way down for the keystrokes to register, making the muscular movement much less. However since you're kind of stuck in a pattern when it comes to typing, its weird to re-do your habit all of a sudden. So that's something I'm still getting used to. While admittedly I do really enjoy the less stress when I really do go in for not pressing it all the way down, its taking me forever to type that way so I tend to jump back into my old habits.

For gaming though its a whole different ordeal. I jumped in Skyrim as soon as I got the keyboard, and it just feels really good to just gently push W to run, or resting my thumb on Alt to sprint. Here I really do feel the changes positively right off the bat.

The back-light is wonderful, I like that it's graded -and that its got its own button to switch the grades by. Its a nice cool blue that really lights up the beautiful brushed aluminium.

I love the Windows-Lock button, that's something I've missed on my last keyboard. The wrist-rest have a nice textured feel to it, the only minus is that its curving a bit too much downward, which makes my small hands wrist curve more then necessary in order to type on the rather tall keystrokes. I doubt this is a problem for the manly mans with normal to larger sized hands though. Its a problem I tend to run into quite often with my puny, pitiful hold.

There's also a USB port in the back of the keyboard so I don't have to crawl under the table to plug in my External HD or camera, which is great. Not that it's filthy under there or anything. Nooo...

There's a couple of things I'm missing after having switched from my old Logitech Wave to this, like the Calculator-button, which was great considering how bad at math I am. I've been using ergonomic curved or half-curved keyboards for years now, and going back to a "normal" one is something I notice quite fast in my wrists.

I'd also like the ability to change color of the back-light, but that's pure vanity. The blue is quite stylish as is.

Overall its a great keyboard! It doesn't feel the most ergonomically correct for me, but it might change when I learn to type properly on it. The benefits of the Cherry MX Red's might outweigh the problems with the "normal" design and the wrist-rest. The features on it are great, it feels very proper and I'd certainly recommend it.

Alright so its that time of the year. One of my personally favorite times, because I can finally sit down and play with the toys I looted during the Xmas Riots. And what I wished for but didn't get... Well, I might have to buy those. But point intact; this is the time for testing it all out! Maybe Ill write some proper reviews. If I can unhook myself from Tamriel long enough.

Mouse Upgrade!

So, Santa delivered a couple of tech goodies this year. First up; a Cyborg R.A.T 9! (Thanks Mom!)

The R.A.T-series have been on my wishing list for a while now for the reason that my fingers are absolutely screwed. If you're a regular reader, you might have figured that out by now. But anyway, not only are my fingers riddled with inflammations, they're also very very small. Which doesn't really suit most of the gaming-gear presented these days. Most mice are too big, which leaves my fingers having to struggle to or simply fail at reaching some of the featured buttons and wheels.

Until now I've used the pretty featureless Logitech Performace Mouse MX, whom despite not being a gamer mouse, is pretty darn good. But it's curves are a bit too big, and the button is a bit rough to press (compared to Jerry's Razer Mamba) and I've missed a couple of features that is avaliable in the RAT9, such as the easy sensitivity switches. The pinky and thumb-rest of the RAT9 is certainly an added bonus, and the ability to change its weight is not just good for controlling it, but also for your wrist.

Might have to do a full review on it later!

Camera Level Up!

And no less then a Canon EOS 600D. (Best. Man. Ever.)

Last year we almost both bought each other a Wii. Even the same color one. This year, I asked him if we couldn't just skip that whole Christmas-gifts thing and buy ourselves a DSLR-camera instead? And then I saw his disapproving face and figured "Oh well, Ill save up for it myself". Little did I know about his plans. Evil Genius. My grandparents joined us for Christmas-dinner, and when my grampa brought out his brand new 600D I looked at it longingly, saying "Oh, that's the one I want...". I didn't see Jerry's huge grin behind my back.

Audio Upgrade!

Hopefully Ill get to play with my Christmas-gift to him as well, the wireless audiophile Sennheiser RS180. I'll have to unglue them from his head first though. Not sure how to manage that!

Keyboard Upgrade!

For a while now I've wanted a mechanical keyboard. As previously mentioned, my fingers are shite, and every little added comfort helps as much as I use the computer. The advantages of mechanical keyboards over the standard Membrane ones aren't just that every key has its own individual keyswitch mechanism, making the typing that more accurate. It is also a lot easier as a touch-typist, since you don't need to press down the button all the way -meaning reduced stress on the itsy bitsy finger-muscles. Yay!

The negative is of course that mechanical keyboards have a tendency of being louder (remember those old-school keyboards?) but the Cherry MX Red is supposed to be quite quiet. Mechanical keyboards are on full speed back into the the gaming-scene, led by Razer's Black Widow, whom uses Cherry MX Blue switches, which is strange considering Blue's are essentially a typing switch.

Eh, why am I explaining all of this? Better just get your butt over to overclock.net and check out their Mechanical Keyboard Guide. Know which switch would suit you best before buying a mechanical keyboard! Considering the costs of these badboys, looking into it might be worth it. And remember that Razer isn't the only company out there although their keyboard might be the most profiled one. (Not that their products doesn't do the trick, if I had larger hands I'd probably be using a Mamba too.)

So anyway, as a Xmas-present to myself, I just ordered Corsair's Vengeance K90 (pictured above), which uses Cherry MX Red. Its launched as a MMO/RTS Gaming Board, which explains the 18 Macro-keys on the side. I don't much care for them, although I am a MMO/RTS-gamer. The reason that I bought just that was because it's back-lit, got some nice features I wouldn't want to be without (Windows Lock button and Volume wheel), its sleek design - and well, it was on sale! Waiting for it to arrive in the mail, then I might write a proper review on that as well.

In other news, we bought my littlesister Skyrim. Yeah, she's lost.

I know. I'm always (positively) surprised at how many actually read my blog when looking at my counter. Should have thought I'd feel the encouragement to write more often considering, but I admit I'm a lazy, plump ass geek who's easily distracted by OH SHINY other things.

Anyway, a update on my life. Alright. We've moved into our lovely little abode. We get a somewhat limited internet-connection here (a whooping 7 Mb/s) which is a bit displeasing, but we're working on that. Our house have become quite stylish. Maroon and light grey walls with black and copper accents in decorating. I just need to throw some pictures up and it'll all be jolly. Almost as if a grown-up lives there or something. HA!

I haven't really gotten around to doing much other then fixing with the house and our living arrangements. I've written a little story on the history of The Elder Scrolls over at pressfire.no (in Norwegian of course) which is the first I've written for them in a long, long while.

I've also played some Skyrim, Vindictus and Might and Magic Heroes 6. And boardgames; Talisman and Risk 2210 A.D. We really need more boardgames so we can change it up a bit more.

Anyway, things are calming down over here now that we're not so stressed out with the house. So maybe I'll write some more soon? No promises, but I'll try to be better at updating. Even if its nonsense. But what else is new? ;)

We're buying a house!

And it will be magnificent.

It's a 90 m2 little piece of heaven in the Swedish woods, with a lake and beach about 400 meters away.

True to ourselves, one of the first things we noticed with the soon-to-be-all-ours abode is that the venue offered the excellent option of outdoor LANing, complete with the serene scent of pinetrees and rhubarb. Which I assure you, if you have ever been to a sweaty LAN in the middle of the summer, is quite the upgrade from cheesedoodles and the smell of 10 hairy, sweaty men (and one less hairy yet somewhat sweaty woman) being stuck in a non-airconditioned apartment over a weekend with only the computer fans circulating the air...

And of course, our lovely outdoor area is perfect for sitting outdoors, around the fire, with lanterns and playing pen and paper RPGs.

Oh and not to mention, I get to decorate it. Whiii! I am ashamed to admit I have been looking at wallpapers for a small eternity now. First I wanted to create a rather neutral black and white livingroom with a fucking huge owl photo wallpaper. Then the staring owl freaked Jerry out, and so I went on to create a somewhat steampunky look. And that was too brown. So now I've landed on a white, bronze and red mix that is looking quite fabulous in my mind. We'll see how it turns out.

Monday Night Combat

I've been meaning to play Monday Night Combat since I read about it in PC Gamer a while ago, and so I picked it up now during Steam's Summer Boot Camp sales. So far, fun stuff! I love how its combining lanes ala DoTA and the FPS fun of TF2. At first it kind of reminded me of the Arena games in Borderlands Mad Moxxy DLC, which I was rather worried about. But the lanes saves the game, gives it more of an edge. Or at least so I hope. The problem with Mad Moxxy was how long winded and boring it got after only a short while.

What are you supposed to do? Defend your home base against the opposing team. Red vs Blue. Classic. Upgrade turrets, upgrade skills, upgrade your robots and help them break through the lane of opposing robots and of course, fuck up the counterpart.

Looking forward to playing this properly in a LAN environment. Should be fun!

Well its not really that much of a shocker. The idea that it could be Bechterews I have has been circulating for about a year now, but its hasn't come to the point where they actually wanted to give me the diagnosis or alter my treatment any until this stage.

I've been experiencing a lot of back problems, the last year especially. I felt it's become progressively worse, and unfortunately since I already had a diagnosis and am on medication, I feel that it haven't really been taken very seriously by the Reumathologist dept. of the hospital I'm connected to. Which isn't really anything I'm not used to; you never feel you're taken seriously unless you talk to the doctor that is specifically appointed to taking care of you; and getting an appointment with that doctor, well -that's easier said then done. So you get stuck with all these emergency doctors or who ever is available, and since they have no interest in reading your 8 year long file and have no idea how viable your claim is or how "whiny" this particular patient is, they usually just solve it by going "ahuh... ahuh... So maybe some cortisone and uhh... have you tried Voltaren?".
Thank you, yes, I've tried just about every goddamn pill on the market. Trying to actually move your treatment forward in a slightly faster phase is really a uphill sprint on rollerblades.

But yeah; since my X-Rays have proven I now have some ... "changes" to the lower back bones, coupled with some other symptoms I've had since the very start of my illness, its become pretty clear its Bechterews I'm dealing with. I was kind of hoping that for once it was just some tendon stress that could be solved with some back massage or some fancy voodoo, not another permanent sticker on my bum.

On the other hand its good to finally have some validation that I'm not just imagining it, that I'm not just being "that whiny patient" and that there is a goddamn problem and its not something to just brush off. When you walk around with a problem that is bothering you every waking minute for so long, and no medical authority figure tells you that this is real, then you really start doubting yourself, doubting if you are actually feeling abnormal amount of pain. Because after all, how do you measure pain?

And this is one of the reasons I feel so tired. Trying to measure myself up to a normal standard is just not possible, I have no idea what is normal and what is not anymore. When I wake up in a bad shape and I look out and its raining, I'll find myself blaming the weather. If I did something that would stress my joints the day before, Ill find myself blaming yesterday's activities. But when there's nothing to blame I feel lost.
And then I'm reminded of something my mom once said; "The reason is, you have rheumatism".

She seem to understand one thing many don't; that it might be just as hard, or harder, for me to comprehend what I am actually going through. I know its difficult for those around me who is affected as well, although most handle it well -I have had unfortunate experiences where others have been more conflicted about what to expect from me, resulting in unnecessary bickering or just plain mistrust -that was especially something that was true for the first years after I got ill.

The truth is, you can't see that my body is messed up. Neither can I.
You can't find reason for why I don't function. Neither can I.

You can't fix it.
And neither can I.

Really the only thing that I have that you don't, is the pain. You should think I'd be more certain about the scenario, knowing that I will have these problems for the rest of my life; by I constantly question myself, much because I reflect the feelings others around me portray in relation to my illness, and it makes me uneasy and uncertain.

Its like I'm stuck in some medical matrix and I still haven't figured out what reality I belong to.

So if you're confused, then I welcome you to my realm. We can have tea and compare scars, or maybe just don't say anything at all and just simply pretend that there's nothing left to say about the matter, because its solved or not even happened and everything is understandable all of a sudden and complications is a thing of the past...

Jerry started playing Heroes of Newerth again and apparently they have a sort of Item Mall now. Some of the things you can buy is your favorite chars in another gender or with another look.. Instead of Moon Queen you can be Sexy Moon Queen. Instead of Succubus you can be Naughty Succubus. And of course there's female Pyromancer and Glacius and other female versions of the most used heroes.

The Sexy and Naughty versions of the already alluring characters is rather... disappointing. Really don't know a better way then to put it like that.
But the worst is still the male char "Pimp Slayer" with the fabulous description "Show dem hoes who's boss as Pimp Slayer" Excuse my french but What the fuck!

Don't get me wrong, there's some pretty cool characters here too like the Adventurer -looking much like a Indiana Jones and the little Bombardier rolling around on a cannon, and while I haven't seen Helga Hammerstorm in action yet she's apparently the first female skinned Strength based hero, which is cool.

Apparently the Sexy, Naughty and Pimp was made as some "Flamboyant" pack together with new commentary-voices which is quite obviously supposed to be a well, a stereotypical flamboyant homosexual. (However I don't know how the gay gamer community feels about that so I'm not going to be offended for them just for the heck of it.)

Usually I can smile about jokes that's not meant for me, and even jokes made on my expense -but I don't find this amusing at all. It just feels wrong.

Another thing about the Item Mall skins, I like playing female chars because I relate to it more, however I really dislike having to pay extra to play the gender of choice when they have both genders ready made by the developers -such as the case of female Pyromancer, Glacius and Helga Hammerstorm.
There was another F2P FPS called Crossfire where they had item malls that I played a little a few years back, and their most expensive item was a female skin. For some reason that pissed me off enough to stop playing.

It just feels like they're forgetting they have (potential) female players at all.

On a completely unrelated note,
my body's a effin mess. My back, my ribs the whole s'bang is acting up and leaving me problems all over the place, such as having a hard time breathing and not sleeping well, as well as making senseless rambles while on painkillers on Twitter.
I'm pissy about the health debates going around in the RA-community which just keeps reminding me about these success-stories that makes it sound as if you're still in bad shape after suffering for a few years it means that you're just not trying hard enough. There was a pretty good blog post (in norwegian) from "Giktbloggen" on the subject.

To top it off a tooth filling's fallen out so going to have to fix that. Bah. Generally the last weeks have been pretty piss poor for me and its affecting my mood, so my apologies if I've been cranky towards anyone.

Might and Magic Browser game

Im scared of browsergames for the very same reason Im scared of large RPG's. They tend to steal my time and make me get tunnelvision.

Recently I was made aware of a Might and Magic Browser game from Ubisoft themselves. It seems this is a little marketing for the upcoming Might and Magic VI that's coming soon. I haven't had too much chance to try it out yet. Here's a little peek at the combat system:

Basically you control your kingdom with town and resources, conquer areas, find artifacts, level up in skills and so on.. It doesn't seem like its created with a large "demand" to play it, perhaps because it seems to be made more as a promo MMHVI.

Cute games vs Sad state of Mind [Visuals]

Me choosing what game I want to play is, I admit, often very shallow. I want the graphics to give a certain feeling. Granted, I have played and enjoyed games as UO and AO, but generally I tend to not want to play anything that doesn't look nice, so Ill admit that visuals is very important to me.

After about 8 years as a gamer (advancing from Nintendo-kiddie, that is and not taking into consideration Backpacker and Flight Simulator...) and thinking back, I think I can safely say that the amount of cuteness I choose to go for in a game is relate able to how shit I feel in real life.
Usually when I'm down its because of my physical state. I try not to get affected but really, the longer the period of time where I'm in bad shape; the more bitter and down I get. I don't think I have to elaborate on that; its quite natural, no?

Simplified, my choices seem to follow this pattern:

Sad Panda: Cute games such as Rose, FlyFF, Bush Whacker.
Happy: Adventurous games, often RPG's, such as Fallout, BioShock, Borderlands.
Confident: Competitive games, Shooters and RTSs such as CoD , HoN, Demigod.

Heck, even CSI: Crime City can be labeled as Cute. Just look at this dead body:

The cute games are often very periodical since when I snap out of it, I tend to get a sugary overdose just by looking at them. I'm never attracted to start playing these games when I'm up and generally happy. I'd even say I'm more bothered by them at that point.

I assume its not "just me" who's got it like this, because assuming a person is alone in doing anything is fucking stupid, but I wonder how many of those who choose the Cute Games (and who've passed age 15) over the more serious and challenging ones is doing it for the same reason - a quick Happy-fix far away from the reality of the harsh actual world.

My pictures from our Disney Vacation

Realized I still hadn't posted any of my pictures from our vacation, not here or facebook except my profile page.

We went to Disneyworld for my birthday (Sep 1st) last year and stayed for 12 days. It was great! During all our time together this was the first time we actually had a proper vacation to ourselves, its always either been with family or in connection with Entropia. It was needed, especially after a very stressful year. It did wonders, and I would really love to go back either in 2011 or 2012. I know my family is heading there this summer, and I envy them sooo bad!

The new Harry Potter area of Universal Studios had just opened when we got there, and that's just one amazing area. In general Universal haven't been as good at creating any specific feeling when you walk through their themes, but they really made up for it with the Harry Potter area. Its got everything from butterbeer to the Hogwarts Express, silly shops and a friggin lifesize Hogwart. Walking around there really brings up that feeling, but Im still biased towards Frontierland in Magic Kingdom as the best there is.

So anyway here goes. Going to limit the pictures of course, Im sure you're not all too interested in seeing flamingos from 10 different angles, and tbh Im not very interested in posting them.

We travelled Gothenburg - Amsterdam - Atlanta -Orlando. While waiting in Amsterdam, we figured we'd geek it up a little.

Sparta, Athens, Rome... Sure we're on the right plane?

Jerry had 1 wish and 1 wish for our trip only: Visiting a Dunkin Donuts. Atlanta Airport took care of that.

Went down to Rainforest Cafè as soon as we got there. They then lost our reservation and we had to wait 1/2 hour to be seated.

But at least we got drinks in disco-cups!

We got the glasses to go. Inside the bottom there's like a little disco ball thing that lights up if you press the bottom. When we got home, one of these buttons got stuck. The glass wouldn't stop discoing until a week later when it ran out of batteries.

Spent my birthday at Magic Kingdom with a big-ass button on my shirt saying I had birthday. I dont think Ive ever said "thank you" more often, those Disneyworld employees are well drilled in being friendly and forthcoming. Thats one of the things that makes me prefer Disney over the other parks; the people that work there really seem to be having a great time too.

Decided my Birthday dinner would be held at the best little italian resturant; Portobello. They do this great thing where they ovenbake a whole ginger with oliveoil and serve it with this gorgeous bread. Its too good for words.

Also, lovely drinks, and a lovely companion.

Funnily enough our server had her birthday too this fine evening. she was nice. Also she brought me birthday-cake on the house.

Our day at Universal was... rainy. I had to stop taking photos after this one, because of condensation on the lens. We fixed it with the hairdryer at the hotel later though.
In proper Florida spirit, the rain lasted until we were walking down the street with water reaching up half my leg.

I think its funny how men often seem to assume that if the girl is a gamer chick then she's a all-round nice girl.
Like always, assumptions are stupid.

It's no secret that if you're a girl in games you tend to get a lot of attention. Even from social games with chats where the ratio seems 4-6 girls can still get a nice little man-harem going if they are up for it.
To put it bluntly, some of these girls (note: certainly not all of them!) feed of the attention they get from these harems, they're using you to feel good about themselves - and if another girl happens to even be in the vicinity (and thus getting a tiny widdle bit of attention, wanted or unwanted.) their bitch flare goes up and they'll start defending their pack in the way that girls tend to do.

Personally I've found it a bit amusing that these are the same girls that tend to whine about "never being the popular one in class". Well, good job paying it forward?

But I've seen it so many times its really starting to bore me. Its just immaturity, and they'll (hopefully) grow out of it or grow tired of it, and then they can probably be labeled "nice" girls.
But really, the moral is, stop making assumptions that girls in games are so much different just because their choice of hobby. It all boils down to sex and power anyway.

I admit that in spite of their flaws I tend to like playing the CSI games.
And by flaws I mean its evidently not created for players over the age of 13. I mean the whole game is really just hovering your mouse over the screen to make sure you get this icon that tells you there's evidence there.

I don't quite recall, but the first time I started playing the CSI games I think I was around 18 yrs old. That's ... 6 years ago now. I seem to recall them being harder. I seem to recall an option to turn off that damn feature where you'll see the mouse icon change when hovering over interact-able objects, and I sure as heck seem to recall you being able to try out all the different equipment on the evidence to have Grissom tell you you're an idiot to try to use plaster on a fingerprint and that doing so would lower your score.

Im not sure weather I remember it this way because I'm just a plain better gamer now then I was before (no doubt there) and can recognize the game design and miss a more "hardcore" mode on the CSI games, or if they really did shave the CSI games down so much that they've taken away the actual exploration in favor of making the game more "casual friendly". It seems more like interaction story-time for young CSI fans then a game.

I bought a CSI game a couple of days ago. Generally, I've liked playing them then I have a moment for myself. When I'm home alone, or, when the man is asleep. Then I can sit here in peace and shift through mud and used syringes, looking for evidence, nailing that bastard.
Last time I played a CSI game I still had that feeling it was perhaps too casual. But anyway...
I bought the newest CSI: Fatal Deception when I had such a moment alone, and fired it up. I felt slight disappoint that the game is basically a simplified 3D Find Waldo.

Maybe I've just outgrown it?

Either way, I fired it up and I got stuck at the first case! I was happy about this, I was hoping there was something I had missed, something I had overlooked. Something making me actually search and engage myself in the story. Some twist at the end. The blood of the suspect didn't match the hair I found, instead it matched the victim's! Were they really family, siblings maybe? Why hadn't he told us about this in the interview?

But no. After a lot of messing about, it just seemed like a bug. So I checked up on a walk-through, and the hair was supposed to match the suspects DNA. Bah. Now it's stuck at Case 1 and since the other cases doesn't unlock unless you finish case 1, I guess I need to wait for some fix.

However, when I shut down the game I got a little pop-up. I had been granted a 1 year free Elite membership on CSI: Crime City, a facebook game. Generally I'm not particularly fond of facebook games, not because I have anything against them -they just seem to be a waste of time. I've played a couple though, such as Texas Hold 'Em, Bejeweled and my favorite Word Challenge. Either way I was starved of entertainment so I figured why not. I got a elite pass and everything.

Turns out all Elite pass really does is give me a funky floor:

And the possibility of buying stuff for Ubi-points (read: real money) in the shop. So, for buying the game for real money I get the privilege of buying exclusive stuff for more real money! YAY!

Either way I played it a little, and its moderately entertaining in a grid-search kind of way. What is funny about this story though is that the f2p facebook game have so far given me more entertainment value then the CSI game I originally bought.

Anyway... I just bought "Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle" on steam (was on sale) today so perhaps I can use my casual detecting skills there instead. I hope!

I suspect he used more time on it then they usually do, and he captured some details really well (like the colors of Jerry's eyes) and I really love how funny me and him look together... :)

Im currently playing the Rift beta and it seems I fell down into a rabbit hole...

I was out swimming, doing a mission, when suddenly I got fatigue loss. Since I hadn't seen any form of fatigue measurement before this sort of took me by surprise, I went up to the surface to breathe thinking that had anything to do with it by no. Fatigue went down even when breathing fine and just bobbing in the water without swimming, so I soon found myself dead.

And far, far away. Being a newcomer, I resurrected on spot. I figured I had been teleported to the nearest Defiant resurrection near the newcomer town (for level 6-10 newbs) since thats where I died but no such luck.

What the HELL?

On the way down to where I died I quickly realized that something was really wrong. I tried to stick to the road but level 14 creatures kept killing me. And there's a level 19 rift right by the ressurect. Yay.

Now you see on number 4 on the map now.. I tried to swim over the pass there as a ghost. Those dotted lines? Serverborders of course. Invisible wall. You should see the way I need to walk to attempt to actually get back to the newb city. There's no way for a level 9 Defiant to get around that path.

Pushing "Stuck" only sends me back to the ressurection on number 2.
So, now Im waiting for GM help to move me back to the newbie playground.

Edit: And Im out! Many thanks to GM Primarch who got me out of there and revived me. It took about 1 hr 20 mins from making the inquiry to getting help, which I assume is a alright time considering they have let the whole darn world betatest this weekend.

HoMM... No.. MM Heroes VI stuff.

So, Ubisoft and Black Hole Entertainment have released more Heroes VI stuff with their new website update. The website now looks pretty darn sweet, and the trailer is beautiful and the screenshots show a lush and pretty game environment.. and in spite of the fact that the game developers sounds like raving lunatics in the videos, -its promising. But there is a few things that worries me.

Both the Concept Art and the Creature pages looks a bit like Black Hole might have been a bit too faithful to their color schemes for the different races. Inferno's is of course Red and Black like always, but does all of the creatures have to look like they are made out of molten lava?
Take Tormentor and Juggernaut for example:

Luckily the trailer shows that the Juggernaut is going to be of rather substantial size, so hopefully there's not going to be a problem with selecting the wrong creature because they're too similar. And that can happen after several hours of playing, when your eyes is a little tired -trust me on that.

There is some other few graphical bits that annoys me a little, like the Crossbow's man undignifying bird-hat (sob, it was my favorite unit in V!) and that the hair of the Blazing Glory looks like wobbly 2D strings, and the griffin looks bland and boring. But I'm generally fond of Haven so that is probably my fandom-eyes looking, and I don't like being that person.

And then there's this:

Ignoring the outragous stats for now, I'm hoping that the reason why there is only three slots for spells is to save room, and that more slots will open once you've filled all three, not because that's the full amount of spells that can affect a stack.

Either way, I'm most definitely going to buy the game and Ill most likely enjoy it. If it'll become a new favorite over the other HoMM games though... that remains to be seen!

It occurred to me today as it has several times lately, that my siblings really think I loathe WoW-players.

The first time I remember this coming up for discussion was when my sister had her at-the-time boyfriend over for a visit. We were talking games, and he had barely gotten to "World of Wa.." when my little sister told him to shut up unless he wanted her sister to claw his eyes out.

This have come up to discussion several times, and I was painfully reminded of this crude and unforgiving vision my siblings have of me today... When my little brother talked about macro'ing, and said he used it while playing WoW, but before I had even opened my Steam Chat-Window he had quickly followed up with "NOOOOOO I dont play often!!!" I don't know where this terrible misconception have come from. Man, I know a lot of WoW Players. Some of them are even my friends!

One of them is even a GM! Dude, its okay to play WoW. It just so happen that I don't, but that doesn't mean its bad or anything. We're different. We're BORN different. That's life, you just gotta roll with it. There's no reason to be ashamed. You're okay by me, kid. I like you just the way you are!

I mean how can you not respect this?

I admit when I first checked out Magicka over steam I thought... boring. Quickly went on to other games. I just looked at the film and saw something that looked like a mundane and unpersonalized setting with some seemingly narrow skillset and gameplay. I was unimpressed.

I was wrong. Im ashamed of being so wrong.

Luckily for me a friend of mine had checked it out and convinced me to try it out. I had missed out on all the charm and all the gameplay elements by looking at the video (without sound) and not bothering to read the text to peak my interest.

The game is lighthearted and entertaining. Swedish developer Arrowhead just seem to have had so much fun when making this game that the feeling really pops out on you, and the feeling of relief you get from playing this cute little game after a stressed out day can probably be chalked up next to Vicodin, without the grumpy sideeffects of Dr. House.
The gamedesign is simple yet advanced.. You have all your elements on QWERASDF, and to make some really nice magicks you combine the elements before you blast it off at your enemy, to fry, douse, bomb them or whatever your choice of pain is. Me, I like lightning. Why? Because my Co-Op friends don't. Mwahaha.

Anyway, most of these magicks you need to figure out yourself, and some (well, most) can harm yourself as well. Which means there's a lot of trial and error on what magicks are good to use. (Tip: ASF, and combine your laser with your co-op friends for bigger game.) This leads to some pretty great moments in co-op where you and your friends come to some ...painful realizations. Like how using lightning while it rains might not be a great idea. Or, you know... Meteor Showers.

I felt like an alchemist trying to make piss into gold and actually ending up doing it. Either that or ending up with piss all over myself, depending on how well you know the elements effect on each other, or the buttons that controls the elements. You'll often end up pressing the wrong key and that might just happen to be the death of you. But you're like a scientist. Its all for the sake of grand discovery! Aint it great! Alright, maybe it wasn't the best analogy.

Either way, this game is a little gem. Especially if you can speak Swedish.

We're all used to pretend babble from games. After all there's probably no gamer in the world that haven't heard (willingly or unwillingly) The Sims talk to each other. In Entropia we used to have these pretend babbling as well, which a lot of people from over the Atlantic used to ask if were supposed to be Swedish.

I didn't realize it at first, since Im a lousy norwegian, but a fun thing about the pretend-babble in Magicka is that it is Swedish. Well, parts of it anyway. Part Swedish, part English and part Hobo. I think the combination is supposed to sound like Old Norse? Either way it can really crack you up when you hear their tiny little voices talk about bananas or ...visetitters? and ost.
And then you kill them dead.

Oh yeah, be careful about that. It seems you can kill your questgivers. Whops.

The only major sad thing about Magicka is that online co-op's doesn't seem to save on neither host nor anyone else. So you'll have to restart your adventure if you don't finish it the same night. But still. I recommend it for some fun and lighthearted co-op goodtimes. Well worth 10€! Enjoy!

I bet we've all had those days where we feel like the world is staring at you. You feel ready to break out the tinfoil hat, creep under the table and wait for the day to pass. For no reason.

Yesterday was such a day.

Now, usually I am a pretty patient person. I'm observant, I like to keep track of people around me. I notice things and I like noticing things, details. I like to feel the pulse of the surrounding. So if I catch someone looking at me a little, I'll brush it off and consider them to be doing the exact same thing as I am. Observing, with no ill intent.

But usually when I catch several people at a short duration of time starting at me; I get nervous. Are they seeing something I am not? Is there something wrong with me?

On the way home to a woman was staring so intensly on me after having experienced so many glances earlier, that I was nearly convinced I had a axe stuck in my head and it must have hit some part of my brain which made me not notice, and now I'm bleeding all over the place and dying and they're all staring at me.

Of course that wasn't so.

But upon pondering about it later I realized that this, while being utterly ridiculous, is a good analogy for communication.

I bet you guys have rolled your eyes plenty times when girls wiggle of glee over the sound of the word "Sale".
Like my little sister said when she visited me last summer here in Gothenburg; "Rea (sale) is the most beautiful Swedish word that is."

Now imagine that their glee over 50% off trousers, shirts, dresses, six-pences, pantaloons and what-not is somewhere close to what you felt, oh avid gamer, when you saw Steam's holiday sale. And I gotta admit, as much as I do love shoes and shiny things and colors you can actually wear and not just look at, it exited me more then any clothing sale could ever do.

Granted we didn't buy that much, I would have liked to buy a lot more.. The steam sale is just a too good opportunity to pass up on getting some of the games you'd thought about playing but never got around to. The Indie Packs were hilariously cheap though and almost made me feel bad about not spending more on all those great games.

Bloody hell Im bad at this blogging thing, eh? I gotta remind myself to keep writing here.

So anyway, a funny story about me and Jerry's Christmas-presents.

For a long time now, we've thought about getting a Wii. Usually we play such "serious" games as strategy, RTS, MMO's and FPS, and the Wii would be good for 3 things:

A different, more casual type of entrainment
A good console for having friends over
The Wii Fit.

So of course I figured it'd be a perfect gift this year, and called up to Hammerfest in November to reserve a 25th Anniversary Wii. My family owns a toyshop which happens to sell Nintendo so that was only a natural thing to do. When we got up to Hammerfest for the Christmas vacation, we browsed the shop and looked at the Wii's. Jerry said "The Red one is the nicer one, isn't it?" and I agreed, now happily having it confirmed that I had made the right choice over the Black or White Wii. I couldn't wait for him to unwrap it at Christmas eve.

Now it belongs to the story that my family lives on top of this toyshop. The shop is on level 1-2 while their apartment is on 3rd and 4th floor, which is also where we stayed during our visit.

So one day, I believe it was the 22nd December, I'm in my pyjamas, and Jerry goes out to the minibank to get money for some reason I cannot remember. Suddenly by stepdad comes running up to the apartment SCREAMING my name, and then says that Jerry is downstairs buying me a Wii for Christmas. The Red One.

God damn man stole my Christmas-present idea! Now I had to let my stepdad pretend like nothing, because I didn't want Jerry to know that I knew what his gift was - after all the greatest thing about gifts is giving them, and I didn't want to rob him of that feeling of getting a great gift... Even if he just stole mine.

Christmas Eve came and I'm not sure I've ever seen such a crazy amount of gifts underneath the tree, especially considering that the youngest in the house is 17 soon 18. In the midst of the unwrapping mayhem I was trying to keep track of some of my presents; some of them were not to be opened until later.
And then I got my present from Jerry, and I gave him his present from me. I brought out my poker-face; weighted the box, sized it up, made a comment that these shoes were heavier then I thought they would be. And I opened it up and I had a sincere smile of glee, not because Im good at faking it, but because the moment was so precious knowing what was coming. And then he unwrapped his present from me, which was Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Triology for the Wii.

I don't think I've ever seen a man that confused before. His face had an expression I did not know existed outside comic-books.

It was precious.

We ended up with the following Wii set-up at the end:

Gingerbread Mario

Me and Jerry made a Mario Gingerbreadhouse last year. Since I forgot to post it then, and this is the season to be jolly; here it is! :)

Since we didnt have any fancy color-glaze, the color is actually cake-toppings. Now, most of these cake-toppings were actually in one of them sprinkles-boxes with a multitude of colors, so first you had to separate all the colors and then put them in the right spot... we used tweezers.

Yeah, the things you do when you're at your parents house for christmas without your gaming rig, eh? :)

Cosplay, Yay or Nay?

Alright, Cosplay is basically one of the outer limits of geekyness right? Its one of those things whom many of us with a geeky heart look at, talk about and admire -but we never dare to do it ourselves unless we can joke about it, somehow. I've flirted with the idea, but I gotta admit Im too much of a whuss unless invited to a party where it is mandatory. (please someone, make a cosplay-birthdayparty and force me to come.)

But if you got the opportunity to wear this, would you manage to say no?

I know I wouldn't! I think I fell in love.

I've been meaning to start blogging again, just like I've been meaning to start twittering again. Since last year, a lot have happened in my life. I've moved to Gothenburg permanently, for one thing. I got a job here as a Community Manager for Planet Calypso, so that's been eating up a lot of my willpower for social medias. I run the forum PlanetCalypsoForum.com... But yes, enough about work. While this blog used to be a lot about Entropia (as well as my other games) Im going to try keep work off it, and attempt to keep this blog more personally me.

So what have I been up to lately other then work?
Uh.

Good question.

On the game front its pretty easy. I've been playing Fallout: New Vegas, Civilization 5, I just finished Portal (because I'm honestly ages behind everyone else it seems), I played Dead Rising 2 recently.. And a whole lot of HoMM5. That's what I've played recently.. Since last, that's a whole other story. Not going to go into that, it'll certainly ruin my fingers.

Oh October,
you are way too short.
And too close to November, that is close to December.

I fear I'm going to spend all my monies on games. Oh deary me. I guess my family and friends will get macaroni-art wrapped in toilet-paper for Christmas.

There's so much to do.
First of all, I've preordered Fallout 3 Game of The Year set, with all the add-ons. I've decided to play through it again now that I have a more proper PC. I hadn't played any of the add-ons anyway, so might as well just start all over again. Its so worth it. Due October 16th.

And Machinarium is also coming October 16th. It looks like a cute little platform, and certainly seem to suit the whole post-apocalyptic month theme I'm having. So that's down on my list.

And then I've preordered Borderlands as well. Now that's something Im really looking forward to. Due October 30th.

And then there's the deposits in Entropia...

And whatever else comes along. When was that Baldurs Gate sequel supposed to drop?

How to Liberate Mars

... Well, in all honesty Mars shouldn't be liberated should it? I mean finally us girls have the upper hand it seems, in controlling sexuality and using that feminine Venus-power to control them, buwhahaha...

No seriously. I liberated Mars the other day by playing Red Faction: Guerilla. Its a fun game, Ill admit, but a bit repetitive. I gotta say its a blast to blow things up (fun pun, drumroll inserted.) even if destroying a whole EDF to itsy bitsy pieces means a bit of lag for my 8 gb ram/GTX 275 machine.

The missions were pretty much the same though. Save hostages, Raid EDF, Defend the bases, Transport vehicles (which I found out was a whole lot easier when taking "en spansk en", shortcuts.) and blow things up in creative ways. The only storyline was the main one, and I gotta say I missed having some personality in the rest of the missions, instead of being so generic.

When I finished the last mission I kind of hoped it would open up some fun and quirky missions, but no such luck. The only "personality" I really liked in RF:G was Jenkins. Cool dude.
Either way what I realized when I ended the game was that I really missed the humor and weirdness of Fallout 3. Missing another game when ending one, isn't really the ideal. But RF:G was worth the money, still.

Anyway, I think Ill play the F3 expansionpacks now, as I haven't done that yet.

Well into the SGA period we've experienced some very nice drops in the community. Improved FAP, improved 2870, Mod Merc, Suprmacy, Angel, Sentinel, a204 amp, DOA Foeripper and Loudmouth.. Items that for the last 4 years have been a faint dream for hunters, items that was soon established to have ceased to drop entirely. Until now, with modified stats and a SGA brand.

In spite of these amazing drops, people still get frustrated for not getting a piece of the cake. From what I can tell, a large portion of the community had a perception of SGA as if it would rain goodies on everyone. Personally, I never thought that was what it'd be about.

Its the possibility to loot, its the hope of looting, its the dream that seems a little more real. I know this sounds awfully cheesy but thats what it is to me.

Either way, you can hunt as normal, or you can chase the dream -none of these means you'll get a secured drop. I was around when the last MM was looted, and when DOA's and ML's still dropped. Back when you went hunting atrax because they looted ML or you went for Warrior for that missing angel harness from your set. That feeling have vanished completely since drops stopped, and people have instead been hunting mobs that is easy on the economy for them, with high MU drops of limited items, and that suits their armor and weapons.

Now people are ripped out of their old hunting routine to chase those dreams again. At expense of their eco, maybe - and that includes a bucket of frustration.

Well Ive been taking some time off my spidercamping in Entropia since my RSI got really bad after a while. I knew it would happen as I pushed myself way too hard, hunting 10-12 hours a day nonstop. That just doesnt work with me.

I recieved a beta invite to Heroes of Newerth, which is pretty much DoTA in new gfx. Its alot easier on my fingers so Ive been spending some time there. Which have lead to a revelation:

Maybe its all the things going on or maybe its because I just cant seem to see what is going on at the map when it happens. I get confused, like someone just put a stun spell on me irl.

I gotta say Im a whole lot better in Bleach Wars (W3) then DoTA but Ive not played much DoTA either so maybe it'll come with time. Right now I spend too much time figuring out items, spells and what combos work, and what to watch out for in the other chars. Anyway, I enjoy it, its still amusing.

For me that is. For the DoTA geeks that comes into the noob servers and scream at us who is still learning, it seems unamusing. But honestly, get a life -dont come to the noob servers if you cant handle people making mistakes. And get a haircut.

Disney buying Marvel

Disney just bought the Marvel universe. I honestly didnt see that coming.

Personally Im not against Disney -what can I say, I was born in the eighties, disney is woven into my childhood soul. And if you know much about me, you know Ill never grow up.

You'd also know Im a big fan of comics. Granted I havent been collecting in the last few years, but I I have a pretty extensive colelction of books, mostly DC and Vertigo but also some Marvel.

Personally I dont think that Marvel will suffer much from the change, at least I try to be optimistic. But one thing that struck me is that currently both Spideman, Hulk and Wolverine is located in the Universal Studios Island of Adventures, on the Marvel Super Hero Island. Universal and Disney is the two largest compeditors on Orlando soil, I assume, so will Disney muslce their way to remove the Superhero Island from Universal, and create their own?

In that case it'd be a damn shame. The hulk and the Spiderman ride are two of the best rides in the whole themepark, and in Orlando. I suppose they would have just changed name on it (and changed the 3D stuff on spiderman) and kept the ride, but still.

I first visited Island of Adventure in summer of 2000, and then again in March 2008. Next time, maybe it'll be in Disneyworld?

The Unfortunate Looter

These days, as we dont have teaming re-introduced yet, Ive felt alot of unfortunate globals hit my avatar.

No, that does not mean I dont want globals. I need it to break even with the mobs Im hunting, no doubt. The thing is, there are few mob spawns that are extra interesting these days with the SGA going on, and thus I often find myself sharing huntingfields with friends and socmates, but unable to team with them.

Loot is, in lack of other words, a damn big mystery. There are always a dozen theories circulating the community; some good and some bad. But how about the theory that when your friend is on the same radar as you, and complains about loot, you global on the next mob you take down. Every time! It happened to me about 3 times yesterday and a few the day before that aswell.

Globals ususally makes me happy, and the first time it was sort of funny. But if I continure this then Im on the fastlane to really pissing my friends off (luckily Im dealing with some pretty patient people here). Im sure the entropians out there can relate to the loot blues, and how it affects you.

Win 7 problem

While Ive been one of the lucky ones that have suffered minimal damage due to the CE2 change in Entropia, Ive found my computer has other issues.

Since I got my new comp I decided to try out Win 7 on it, and its started doing something strange. When booting the computer the screen starts up as normal, until windows is finished loading and I can see my desktop, then it goes black and says "no signal detected!". After which I try rebooting the screen a good dozen times. Either that works or it doesnt and I have to reboot the comp (and pray meanwhile). If it does work, then I go in to Screen Resolution, and voila... there's another Generic PnP screen detected. Sometimes 2 extra screens detected, whereas one of them are in use.

Thing is, I dont have any other screens.
So I change the settings to only one screen being used and that fixes the problem until the next time I boot my comp.

What an annoying problem! Anyone have a fix?

And the pictures doesnt even justify it. Im very happy I bought a new computer for this. Its running smoothly on Very High settings. The textures, the movements, the shadows, the day/night cycles. Its even better then I anticipated. I love it.

Now just to wait for the rest of the 'game' to be implemented again and bugs to be fixed. But this is... breathtaking :)

So its recently been announced that Spiderman-director Sam Raimi is going to direct the upcoming World of Warcraft movie. Im really curious as to what the story will be. Will it follow lore, or will it be more of a suprise. What impact would, in that case, the movie and the lore it follows/creates impact on the roleplayers in WoW?

Now, Im no WoW Player. Ive never played WoW. Warcraft, sure. WoW -No. Never. Of course I know a little about it (can't get away from it if you like it or not) but my knowledge pretty much ends there.

Well, we'll see. Interesting stuff.

Heroes of Mighty Nightmares

We were playing Heroes of Might and Magic (5, Tribes of the east) for about 16 hours straight last night. And this morning.

Like most games, even bejeweled and plants vs zombies (damn you, pop cap.), if I do it enough it will show in my dreams at some point. I am one of those people who tend to remember most of my dreams when I wake up, often several -and my dreams are often very, very vivid.

So when I recieved a text to my phone, I woke up and litterally ran out of bed. I was still in a dream-like state, thinking that if I didnt move my ass out of there, I'd get pwned. I worried how many steps ahead I was.

And then I realized how foolish it seemed. And I laughed a little, while still a little, just a little, angsty.

I think Im gonna choose a different race tonight. Damn horsies.

Things are really closing in now. The big move is just hours away. Okay it might still be a couple of days, but its less then three digits in hours, so lets just call it a "few".
At least Ill call it a few, like the brat I am who've always been used to having alot more of everything. Okay Im not really serious. I just make lame jokes when Im nervous. Hehehaho...

Either way. Kitchen's done, livingroom is pretty much clear and my little sister managed to get herself infected with the kissing disease. Which really is a horrible sight, and I hate to leave her right now. She's in quite bad shape, but she'll pull through.

Tomorrow (or later today, after sleep) Ill have to clean this place up and start packing down everything in suitcases and so on. Im not going to take my computer with me (just my screen) since its outdated anyway. Ill just terrorize Stoik to build me a new one. I can't wait for long nights of gaming on a fresh comp that doesnt growl at me when I open Opera. Im gonna start off the new era with the new Monkey Island games.

Oh and I also learned about the game called Borderlands today. Seriously, the look of that made me wet myself. Its like if Battlefield Heroes made sweet lovin' to Fallout 3 and they had Quadruples playing Co-op together. Or something!

WoF Finale!

Oh, I completely forgot to blog about this.. Either way, Ive been helping out Team Sweden for World of Firepower! I thought it'd be appropriate since Im moving across the border anyway. Concidering Stoik have completely polluted my mind with his swedish nonsense, I sometimes even slip in swedish words here and there when I speak. I havent really noticed much to it myself -but my friends keep commenting on it, so I guess there's something to it. Im just about swedish enough to join the Team Sweden Support.

The Final this year will be on upcoming Saturday. It is USA vs Romania vs Sweden.
USA won the first WoF, Romania is the holder of the most-point ever in a round record, and Sweden have been in every final since the start of WOF, but have yet to get the title. Sweden also beat last years winner, England, in the semis. I hope they will bring the title home this year.

It will be a nervewrecking 4 hours of hunting frenzy on Club Neverdie.

I arrive to Sweden on Friday morning. Saturday night I hope we've won WoF and will have one hell of a party. Toes crossed. (I need the fingers for shootin')

Short for World of Firepower, WoF is the largest event in Entropia Universe, with several thousands players hunting for their countries fame and glory. Its a hunting competition, where you score points for hunting. Its teamwork, with one captain, one main team and support teams aswell.

Packing it up!

Yea I know, I know. I haven't updated my blog. Im sorry! There really haven't been much to talk about lately. Ive been busy packing everything, and havent really played anything but solitare!

Right now I can't wait to move. The sun is prima in Sweden, and not so prima up here in the norwegian arctic. A couple of days ago it actually snowed. In July. No, Im not kidding -unfortunally Im very serious.

Since I visited Gothenburg last summer there really haven't been much sun touching my body, so I thought I'd have a go in the tanning studio just for 15 mins, to make my skin a little more used to the licking solar rays. However, I have the skin of a newborn baby, and it seems the sun hates newborn babies ... so today Im itching like mad, got some babyblisters and sunrash. Unfortunally Ill have to grill myself some more, else Ill be lobster-red after an hour in the sun when I get to Sweden.

Most of my things are packed up in cardboard boxes now. I just gotta sell the furniture off and then on Friday Im off to my (hopefully) final destination! Wish me luck!

Its my first time so of course they're not perfect. But I gotta say it was really fun to make!

The original shoes were some old white and red converse (hence the worn sole) that I personalized with acrylic paint.

First I made a base of white acrylic paint, and then I freehanded some silly stuff on it with a permanent marker:

Until it was a finished product. I then started with the second shoe and did the same thing. Looking at these two together though made me think it might have been best if I had let it stay in white/blue and not paint it in black around like I did with the first one.

DYI Shoedesign

I got so inspired while searching the intarwebs for people's handicraft that I decided Id redesign some old shoes of mine.

I've just finished the prime (white) and will paint details on it later when its dried. Unless Im asleep. In which case Ill do it tomorrow.

This is a nice hobby! I had everything I needed for it. A pair of sneakers with outdated design, acrylic paint, brushes and way too much time on my hands.

This is my first time so we'll see how it works out!

As he pulled himself out of the water, Johan immidieatly knew that it wasn’t right. When he first saw that the shaft lead him to above-waters, he was just happy to get away from the pressing feeling of being under that huge ice block. He had expected it to be water above this shaft aswell, like the one he came down from.

Johan looked around him. He was at a strange landscape, rocks and ice blended into something that seemed a scene from a movie. Stone, mould and sand made the ice grey at some places. It almost seemed polluted with exhaust.

The salt water from his auburn-colored hair dripped down in his eyes. He rubbed them, knowing it wouldn’t make the matter better. Swimmingfeet in hand, he walked to find the shore.

Mark's eyes spoke for him, these weren’t just words for him, they were sincere. And right now, I wanted anything but sincere. I didn’t dare say I wasn’t going to stick around. I didn’t dare tell him that the future he talked about was not what I had in mind at all. Actually the thought wouldn’t even have crossed my mind as anything but absurd. I know I should have told him. I just didn’t know how.

Come to think of it, I probably did know how. But I’ve never been an explorer, not when it comes to my personal life. I let him be fooled. He fooled me once, and he thought I had forgotten about it. Yes, I could even say it was his fault, in the end.

The beard was starting to grow a little too long to call it handsomely. He looked rugged and weathered, like a lost puppy. Or maybe a bear, come to think of it. There was something wrong about him having this aura about him when he had this stature. I almost liked him more when he was just an asshole.

I put up and shut up. I let him believe. When he finally would get to know, I’d be a thousand miles away anyway.

There was another layer of ice under the ice itself. Johan thought this was strange, but he knew that in spite of his experience on top of the ice, and diving in arctic circles, didn’t make him an expert on the subject. He found a tunnel, much like a forty-five degree shaft down the ice, big enough for a man to swim through without problems. It looked like there were good possibilities of turning as well, so Johan decided to have a go. His oxygen tank still showed that he had a lot to go on.

The ice was thick! Like really thick. Johan’s mind raced, the navigation-systems on board didn’t show any icebergs in the area did they? Not under water either. This shouldn’t have been here. After several meters of swimming, he again hit clear waters under the ice. Yet, there was something very pressing about being here, under these solid meters of ice. Johan didn’t panic. He worked hard to stay cool. He’d just explore a little more, before going up.
There didn’t seem to be anything of interest down there, and Johan really started to feel the pressure. He spotted another shaft going upward in the ice, and swam for it.

I spent the night in bed, Mark by me. My pyjamas clinged to my body, it was way too hot to wear it, but I preferred it to be naked. He had a smile on his face while sleeping, constantly rolling his hand over me, drawing me closer in a grasp I could not stand. I was getting pissed off at having to pretend.

Why couldn’t he just read my signals. How did I end up here anyway? Nothing had happened. I didn’t want anything to happen, but it still had gone too far. He shouldn’t even have been a part of my life anymore. He was garbage, and while he was sincere right now, I knew that was a tide that kept coming and going. I climbed out of the bed and went for the kitchen. There was dirty dishes in the sink, and garbage needing to be taken out. In my own psychoanalyzing moment, I thought that perhaps I was here because I pitied him. He had nothing, and I was on my way to have everything. But alas its really more likely that I didn’t have such good intentions, but rather wanted him to remember how good I was, just to take it away again. Put a nail in his coffin.

It’s not like he didn’t deserve it.

I was bored tonight. Late nights -its been alot of those lately. And I was surfing youtube, and began listening in on old Disney-songs.

When I was little, there was definatly two favorites of mine: Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. My favorite disney-song was no doubt "Part of that world", sung by Ariel. It wasn't until now, when Ive grown up that I really see why I liked that song so much, why it spoke to me.

Okay, Im no big fan of psychoanalyzing -yet I found it interesting to see the paralleles from that song to my real life, both as a kid and as a teenager. I had whosits and whatsits galore as a kid, since my family owns a toystore. You know, toys are the statussymbol when you're a kid -and even if much of my toys were broken things that was returned to the shop -thats not something the people in my class cared much about when they came over to visit.

Its funny to see it now, Ariel talking about her having everything, except feet. As most know; I have arthirtis and I spent a brief time in a wheelchair.

Hell, Jerry even looks a bit like Eric, the prince in The Little Mermaid. Imagine that. And I know its no secret that Im one of those people who get suckerpunched by love, and will go a great great length for it, just like a certain main character.
The irony of it all. I guess if you look for things like these, they will always become apperant.

The Piracy Puppies emerge!

Dogs have been trained and used for their sense of smell for a long time already. We have drug-dogs, cadaver-dogs, search-dogs, and now also pirate-dogs!

The dog named "Paddy", given to the Malaysian authorities by the Motion Picture Association, sniffed himself to finding a storage containing no less then 35 000 piratecopied dvd's!

I wonder what piracy smells like?

Ive been a fan of Cyanide & Happiness for quite a while, their comics is a part of my daily routine.

And suuuure... Im supposed to have grown away from plushies. But truth is no girl ever grow away from plushies, just as boys never grow away from cars or legos! Well, I havent outgrown legos either for that matter... or sticky goo.. Maybe I just haven't grown at all. But either way; who can resist this little sleezy thing, honestly? I love it!! I want one sooo bad.

Plants vs Zombies!
With that name, this cannot be a serious game. Yea I thought so too.

I was dead wrong, pardon the pun. This adoreable game is a fantastic tower defense game, uber-cute awesomesauce! It has lots of nice minigames in addition to the original challenge. While its not a big release graphically, its certainly one of the games that'll just keep you smiling for hours. For a very low cost.

Basically the game revolves around you defending your house against zombieattacks by using plants with different abilities.

I first found out about the game when its teaser song was released, and it was just wicked. The game followed suit, its crazy in a good way!

Steam allows you to download a demo for free, where you can play 1 hour. The price isnt much to whine about, so I suggest buying it! Trust me, it gets alot harder further into the game. If you like puzzles or towerdefense, this is worth checking out!

Battle Royale Lore

Event organizer Cat have finally finished the Battle Royale novella! It was well worth the wait.

The event took place in Entropia's Zychion Citadel a while back, and I won the whole thing.

Its a damn well written piece of work, which I think described it pretty well with some artistic freedoms. Reading it, it is as if all the emotions we actually went through was amplified in such a way it would have been if it was for real.

Battle Royale suprised me a little with how different the psychology of the players were. I think the novella highlights that in a fantastic manner.
