Life is so complicated.

Studies in signs of being awfully tired:

Subject: Hanne

Test: Multitasking

Action: Make one cup of chocklate milk, boil water for cup-of-pasta, prepare cup-of-pasta.

Result:

First attempt: Put water on boil, open cup-of-pasta, get a glass for the chocklate milk, proceed to pour the cup's ingredients into the glass.
Realize what you've done just as you're about to pour milk over it.

Second Attempt: Get a new glass for Chocklate milk, Ready the Chocklate powder (O'Boy!), Find a new spoon, Open the lid to the O'boy-box, find a old spoon in the box thats been left there for future spooning. Put new spoon back.
Realize you still need new spoon to stir around with. Get a new spoon.
Realize you probably will forget you have a old spoon in the O'boy-box next time aswell, and might aswell have left the box without spoon, and thus could in fact have used the old spoon for stirring too.

Conclution: I should buy ready made chocklate milk. And pasta and chocklate milk doesnt go together in the first place.

Congratulations The BlackSheeps!

Ever since the Nesseby-located youth band "The BlackSheeps" first took the stage at Melody Grand Prix Junior here in Norway they've dazzled the county of Finnmark and the kingdom of Norway.

They now also won the Nordic MGP Junior. Well deserved!! I dont think Ive ever said "YAY!" for a Eurovision-like contest winner before, but this time it happened for sure.

Finnmark is a big county in terms of land, but we're not many people here.
So of course, we get very proud -plus they are proving that even if you come from a small place like Nesseby you can make it!

Personally I think The BlackSheeps might have a bright future ahead of them. Cyaneed from Alta proved that a youth-band from the top of the world can rock the stage before -and now that Cyaneed is (almost) grown up, its a great legacy to leave behind to The BlackSheeps. Who also have a music very similar to Cyaneed, and a kickass vocal.

Here's a link to their winning song: The BlackSheeps - Oro Jaska Bena

Congratulations Zunami!

Winner of Miss Entropia Universe 2009,
Dark Zunami Angel!

a very worthy winner if I may say so myself!

Also congratulations to runner-ups Lexi and Nadie!

Felt like a win for myself aswell. The event went so smoothly, 26 contestants -three rounds each, finished in 45 minutes. Im amazed. Im very happy. It was worth it! And now marco's promised to sponsor us for next year too, yay!

Guys and...porn

Funny thing happened yesterday.

I was stressed out of my mind, and had lost internet connection to top it off. So I figured Id go down to the store to buy some candy to calm my nerves, and a magazine to read while waiting for the internet to get back up.

So I went straight to the science magazine isle, like I usually do. Now, behind it is the porn magazine isle. And the shelfs isnt tall, so I can look over them no problem.

So I went to pick up my science magazine, and there was two guys there about my age, looking at porn magazines.
One of them spots me, blushes and stutters to his friend

"Uuuuuuuhh, What'd you think he'd like??"

in a voice that pretty much gave away his embarrasment.
I can see from the corner of my eye that his friend also notices me, and he answers.

"Um, I dont know!? I never use this kind of things, I have no idea!!"

....right.

Was hard to keep myself from burst out laughing.

First Aurora of the season

Saw the first aurora of the season last night.
Was going out to get myself some well deserved candy,
- and the green lights with accents of purple in it was dancing furiously over the sky.

When I got up to the church and graveyeard area where there isnt much streetlights, it was very bright, vivid, visible and enchanting.

Really wish I brought a camera.
Its things like these that remind me why I love living here.

Sensible things to do while sick

Being sick tends to be pretty boring.
Specially when you get up at 20:59 after falling asleep at 11:00 - after having followed the election all night.

Anyway, here's some tips on what to do when you have nothing to fill the days with:

* Watch 3 hours of Dr.Phil episode re-runs in the middle of the night because its between that or a documetary on Enrique Inglesias and your bloody DVD player is broke.
* Repeatedly click "new posts" on forum on lack of people to speak to.
* See how much Julebrus you can drink without wanting to puke (havent reached my limit yet, gotta keep trying)
* Read Perez Hilton's blog with gossip and drama about celebs you've never heard about.
* Eat 3 cups of Mr.Lee noodles (pepperbeef flavoured) in lack of anything else, since you stupidly thought you'd wake up before the shop closed.
* Play Bubbleshooter.
* Heal noobs in Nea's for 1 hour -Now there's a scenario that could acctually cause virtual agoraphobia.
* Sing in a way that would make janis joplin proud. Loud, if your voice permits. Mine doesnt.
* Make little people out of Blue-Tak and feed your hogglo figurine with it. Wish you had orange paint to complete the illusion.

Not much to do really, when loot sucks.
I did do some hunting aswell and Im very happy to see that my baby Bugsy is back in rabbidspack :) Welcome home!!

Finally

..Im taken seriously.

Don't you hate it when doctors dont take you seriously? Scroll down a little for the earlier post on the subject.

Talked to my usual doctor and he recommended I take it easy until monday, and gave me a sick leave until then. If the fever (yea had fever yesterday, and a little this morning) and the pain doesnt give in or becomes worse we'll concider surgery, because its quite obvious its the gallbladder bothering me again.

So we'll see how that goes. At least he took some initative for treatment instead of making me feel like an idiot that talks to a wall. That guy at the emergency should have known how much it takes for me to give in and go to the hospital willingly.

Royal Straight Flush

Had my First Royal Straigh Flush today!

T to A, all in spades. Was sitting on QT when K & J showed themself on flop. I was thinking "no way am I getting this..."...And then on the Turn... Ace of Spades. Im so incredably happy Im playing online or everyone would have guessed what I was sitting on concidering how much I was shaking.
Nobody called me anyway though, but still bumped me up on the list a little.

Was at pokerstars, in a Sunday Two Hundred Grand Satellite, 126 registered.
Top 22 players get a free entry to Sunday Two Hundred Grand.
I finished top 5 :)

Tried to screenie it but it seems it didnt take. Stupid *mumbles*

But anyway...

God that felt good!

Effin' Doctors

At the Emergency:

Me: My tummy around the gallbladder area is reaaally hurting, I woke up from it this morning around 7 and it havent let go since, a constant pain. It was like that on thursday to friday aswell, and on saturday and sunday I havent felt it so bad but its still been painful at times.  I took some of the strong painkillers I have, and I still feel it . Ive had gallbladder infection before, and when I had that it was like this a couple of days before I got 40-41 degrees celcius in fever and you guys mistakedly operated my appendix out even though I told you I had gallstones before and the pain was very similar. Im very worried, this pain have lasted 4 days now!

Doctor: Take these standard painkillers and call us tomorrow if the pain isnt gone.

*rolls eyes*

Happy Halloween!

And with all the things thats gross and gooey...
Im having a gallbladder problem.

Thats right, - Im gonna complain!

It started out yesterday around noon when I felt the right side of my belly hurting a little. While a gallbladder attack usually is over within 5-7 hours for me, this pain have been consistant for over 26-27 hours in this writing moment. The pain isn't as bad as the gallbladder attacks either, but its like Im bitten on the inside repeatedly, a fact my mom responded to by asking if I had swallowed a ferret.

I have had this type of pain before. I had it a couple of days two years ago, before I got high fever and was sent to hospital for emergency surgery. They removed my appendix, thinking that was the evildoer, however it turned out later on that there was nothing wrong with it, and it might in fact have been a gallbladder infection since I had multiple stones forming a conga-line in there.

If I recall correctly I started getting the pains on a friday then, and I didnt get feverish until sunday noon or something. But the fever hit me hard, and I had well over 40, up to even 41 degrees celcius and had hallusinations and the whole sh'bang.

So Im kinda worried that would happen again.

It occured to me that gallbladder-infections are mostly caused by stones logding in the gallbladder tract, stopping up the system in there. And since the tract is kind of a muscle, Ive taken a muscle relaxing pill, hoping the gallstone will go through, and hence not cause any infection.
Gallbladder infection is baaad mmkay? Supposedly it can lead to blood poisoning, or in my earlier case, lead me to believe that Im a burgular and that "they" are after me, and in order for nobody to see me I had to lay still in the form of an X.

Told you I had hallusinations.

Anyway, Im really hoping it will work, and that Im all jolly good until tonight. Because its Halloween, and I have a costume and a awesome friend that Im gonna rock the town with.

Tiddelibom

...og Huttemegtu :)

Snow's here!

This morning;
this is part of the Arctic Culturecentre, and the flame in the background is from Snøhvit (Snowwhite). The ship is "Hurtigruta", a cruiseship that tours the coast of Norway.
The snow was pretty slushy so I didnt think it'd stick. But by the time I was off work, it has froze to.

Tonight (Taken right before I post this) this is the view from my window.
After a rainy autumn, its good to see some snow light up the street.

Halloween >:)

Logged in yesterday after finally getting home, after having made myself proud.
And logged into Halloween!

The three gifts: Araneatrox Doll, Bat Wings and Small Bull Horns!

The horns together with my clothing made me look kind of succubus'ish, so I decided to make myself a succubus face-mask. Also got Etopia to paint my Crude Nails that I got from Uniqu3 after the umbranoid attack on Hades on sunday. They are now in Burgundy, to suit the suit.

Zip a dee doo daa...

....zip-a-dee-ay
My oh my what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
zip-a-dee-doo-dah zip-a-dee-ay

Oh mr bluebirds on my shoulder
Its the truth its actual

And everything is satisfactual...

Few things beat the feeling of when you've known you've done well. When you've suprised yourself with your own capability, and when you know you've suprised others, perhaps proving them wrong?

While it doesnt really relate to the situation Ive been in the last few days, this reminded me of something.
A friend once said to me: "They should know better then to question the quality of your work, you always come back with triple force". I had never realized it myself up until that moment, but I guess he was right. The quote is from when someone wanted me to do badly, to prove her point.

Anyway. Yea I guess Im one of those people who thrive on contructive critisizm.

Either way, I havent had anyone critizise my work as of late, except me of course. Not to my face anyway.
But managing to write a whole newspaper in 6 days, whereas 2 of them were useless because I couldnt get any cases done then, 1 of them went to planning, 1 of them were really only half a day and that half a day went to writing them in.

Ive been like a gerbil on speed the last few days.
But I made it.
And Im bloody proud.

*cough cough*

Seems Im getting a cold.

I think they've upped the slime production in my throat. Obviously the germs isnt on a US payroll. Im sniffling and my head hurts and and and pity meeeee....!

Seriously tho tomorrow and tuesday gonna be so stressful I dont have the time to be sick now. Luckily I had planned on being home today, no interviews or anything. Just have to write in the cases Ive already done and send them off..

Im not sure if its a good thing that Im sick on the one day off I have.

Virtual Court

Recently two dutch youths were convicted for virtual theft after scamming a younger boy in Runescape (people acctually still play that!?) according to msnbc.

Thats great news for all gamers, specially for us in entropia where the big bucks is!
Well I suppose its great news for all gamers except for the scamming kind..

Its one step forward in making the virtual world safer.

Personally Ive never experienced getting scammed first hand, but I have experienced being stalked, harassed and threatened, and often these people find it smart to not take the threats (which is a reason to ban) to the game to avoid being hit by the ban-hammer.

I wonder if we some day will see virtual restraining orders?

- You're inside my radar! F*CK OFF!!

Mmm, Yum.

Coffee, Tea, Dried Reindeer heart?

Its acctually quite yummy. Sizzle it in a frying pan a little and its even yummier.
I went to "Handelsmessa" here in Hammerfest, which traslate to Trade Fair I believe. Lots of thing to see, taste, hear and smell. Interesting stuff.

I ended up buying 2 bottles of "Gløgg" (a drink that is typically made for xmas here in Norway, can be both alcoholic and non alcoholic) brewed from local resources and one bottle of Siberia Oil, which isnt exactly made in Siberia but here in Finnmark.
And reindeer hearts, also local.

Cant help it, Im a sucker for the local food. We have fantastic nature resources up here.

Paradox VU 3.0

Made a little photoshop on how I think the Paradox would look more like its original self.

Paradox VU 1.0 vs 2.0

Crytopia is upon us in a couple of months time, and I would like to make a request to the design team at Mindark.

Please. PLEASE. Bring my paradox back its former glory!

Political Numbnuts.

The media circus that follows the US election is slightly disturbing.

While I cant claim Im the oldest one around, the elections Ive seen since I started following it in my early teens, few of them can come close to the hollywoodian mist that the candidates this year have been in.

The controversial choice of Sarah Palin as Vice President candidate, and her using a small shitload of the campaign-money on clothes (I wish I had) and make-overs to become "Sexy Sarah the Hottie Hockeymom" is really not what I thought politics was about. Granted, I know politics is about representation, thats not what I mean though.

Outside US the Palin-fever has hit the media. She's beloved by the tabloids, just like Britney was when she shaved her hair off.
Whats said outside US in the media is 90% Campaign and Scandals, and 10% real content. Is that really how the election is? I find myself having to go into the representatives homepages to learn what their politics is really about.

Ask the everyday joe (the plumber) about what Obama and McCain stand for here in Norway and Ill bet you get these answers. "McCain is the same as Bush", "Obama is Change". Ask them any further on what change we're talking about and what their politics is, they'll go silent.

What scares me, is that I dont doubt for a second you'll get the same reaction in the US.

Bloody painkillers...

So those that know me well, and probably some that doesn't know me that well, should know I have arthritis.

This means sometimes I get some boo's haunting my joints, causing pain. This again means I might pop a painkiller, which again mean Ill be in a funny mood.

And in this very writing moment Im in one of those funny moods.

The thing is tho, sometimes I get alot stronger effect from the painkillers, both in how well they get rid of the pain and how badly it effects the rest of me (woozy, sleepy, sweaty, silly etc.)
Sometimes the difference can be quite extreme. Yesterday it didnt seem I was able to rid my pain for the love of the world. Today I hurt even more, but the one painkiller I took is working as if I took three. Im woozy, I was about to fall in the stairs earlier because of it, Im sweaty, hungry and sleepy.

When the ingredients on the pillbox says so-so many grams paracetamol and so-so many grams codeine, they are supposed to be per pill, right?
Because sometimes it sure seem like they've mixed the codeine and the paracetamol into the pillbox, randomly made it into pills so sometimes I get a 99% paracetamol one, and sometimes I get a 70% codeine one.

Thats what it feels like anyway.

LBP - I want to plaaay...

Dammit, I wanna play LittleBigPlanet too :(

I dont own a playstation and I can't really see any benefit of buying it other then being able to play LBP. I already have the Wii (loving it) so I don't feel like investing in another console game.

LBP was as known withdrawn from most markeds because apparently some of the songs used in the game had references to Islam, which wasn't taken too kindly on in the big US.
Here in little Norway tho we don't seem to give a rats ass, and the game is released anyway.

They did the same thing to Mario Party 8. It was withdrawn in the UK because in the game one of the characters said "make this train spastic". I had bought the game in Norway and didn't know that "spastic" was such an insult until I had brought my Wii and games to UK and played it with my friends there. They suddenly burst into laughter when that sentence was being said. heh!

Aaaanyway.
I wanna be a sackgirl!!

Lucid dreaming

Well I decided to take the day off. I need it not only to recoup from the last weeks of superhuman working, but to manage the upcoming weeks of superhuman working.

So it ended up with me sleeping until ca 16:00.
But I didnt get up until 18:30.

In the meantime, I was awake and thinking, listening to sounds and just being in my own little world. And then something strange occured. I acctually was in my own little world.
Instead of rainy and cold Hammerfest I was in a nice suburbian neighbourhood, with blooming flowers and green grass. I had a two story house with a balcony there. I knew very well I was dreaming, but it was so vivid, so real. And not like a dream, I controlled myself fully, and I controlled what happened aswell. What exactly happened, I wont share here ;)

Waking up completely, I was out of the warmth of the sun and under the warmth of the blanket. First I thought it was a nice daydream, but it was so much more then that. Everything I had experienced throughout that dream, I could sense and feel as if it was real.
I had heard of Lucid dreaming once before, but I hadnt really read up on it, so as soon as I got to my computer I googled it.

Wiki Says: "A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress, also known as a conscious dream. When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream."

And indeed thats what happened. Reading further the type I had seemed to be a WILD, a Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream. I want to experience more of these! Evidently there are ways you can train yourself to enter the Lucid State.
Concindering how good my dream was.... I might try it out.

Long bubbly nights

I am not talking about champagne.

I have a tendency of falling victim to arcade and cardgames. Solitare, Tetris, Bubbleshooter and Texas Hold em can entertain me for hours alone.

Lately Ive fallen back to Bubbleshooter. Its not long ago I was pretty hooked on solitare, after my mom lent me her laptop while she went to the mediterranean (...!!) without me.  The laptop kind of sucked to play EU on so I figured why not keep me entertained with some solitare.

But its a dangerous habit. Soon I was escalating to more advanced forms, and started becoming annoyed when people defeated my 1337 solitareskills in the msn solitare challenge. Thats when I knew I had to go to rehab.

So the laptop got returned eventually, but then for some reason I had some time to kill and didnt feel like shooting hogglos ingame so I decided for the next best thing outside the game -shooting bubbles.
And now Im hooked on that. I dont quite know how many hours Ive spent on this during today but its probably a scary amount.

Im not as good as I used to be in Bubbleshooter tho.. I have to improve.

Pork!
Its the meat of kings,
its made from pig  -try it with onion rings!
Pork sure goes with everything,
cuz its made from swine and swine sure tastes fine!

Just bring some it to the picnic baby,
You know you wanna stuff it in my hamper!
But please put it in some tupperware,
cus I dont wanna be a porkie chancer!

Lets talk about pork,
converse about meat!
veggies needs wedgies,
because meat cant be beat!

Ham and bacon -you should taste 'em!
I know its suprising but its so appertizing!

Deadline day

Deadline day = Dead Skam Day.

This is probably the most stressful days I know of. I cant afford to be sick, absent, late or anything but perfect on this day else Ill waste 2 weeks of hard labour.

Luckily today I was well prepared, as I should be, after working what seems like 200% the last weeks, not the 50% Im supposed to work. At least that means I have alot of extra hours saved up that I can use for a lil vacation or something, but I have no possibility of taking that now.

Although "prepared" is a bit of an overstatement. I woke up early morning with terrible backpains and then the gallbladder started acting up too so I finally went to work pretty much full of tralala-pills.
And I had the chiropractor today aswell at 14:00 so I had to leave for 40 minutes to go get my neck snapped, which usually makes me quite woozy, and this time no exeption. So when I got back, I was sleepy from painkillers, dizzy from snapping the neck, and feeling sick of the mentioned dizzyness. I was fit for fight?

Either way, we got there in the end.

Usually when Deadline day is over, my body goes "phew".
Today however I was just more stressed then ever, because by the next deadline I dont only have to have one paper ready, I need to have two.
Since I work for a PR-Company.. My main job is after all managing and writing for the local newspaper that we give out. While the newspaper is a company of its own within the company, so to speak, I am officially working for the PR-Company. And the PR company now have a assignment to make a company newspaper for a mall.
So of course the writer in the company is given that task.

At least I knew about it, and thats why Ive been working like a nutter the week that was, now I have at least a couple of articles ready for the next newspaper so I wont have to do as much there as usual. But still, it will be even more work for me the following weeks.

Stress!!

Oooh... The Horror!

Just came back from watching "Fritt Vilt II", which is a norwegian horror-flick follow up to the original "Fritt Vilt" which came out in ...06 I believe.

While the Horror-genre isnt exactly massively represented in the norwegian film industry, there is such a thing as a typical norwegian horror-flick. Almost all of the big ones are somehow related to our great norwegian nature, and the isolation that comes with the mountains and woods.

Fritt Vilt is no expectation.
The scene of the first movie was a gang of friends going snowboarding offpist, getting caught in a snowstorm and seeking shelter in a abandoned ski resort hotel. But they are not alone... OOoooOOoooOO...

Fritt Vilt II however actually played out in a, get this, small village near the mountains, and on the mountains.
Almost broke free of the typical-stamp, but only almost.
But even if the movie is pretty clichè for being norwegian, it was pretty darn good, and a worthy follow-up from Fritt Vilt.

Now Im looking forward to Død Snø.
From the makers of "Kill Buljo"!
The premiere will be 09.01.2009 on Norwegian Cinemas. And now that we've finally gotten ourself a proper A-class cinema here in Hammerfest, I might even get to see it on the premiere date. Yay.

Miss Calypso -A Model Citizen?

Well while Im in on the whole fashion scene talking,
Miss Calypso is coming up shortly!

The contest is in november, and get this -this year we're getting goverment, I mean MindArk, funding. I can't say what it will be -because frankly I dont know.

The hope is a traditional sash and crown - or some item that will have some historical and decorational value in Entropia, exactly like the miss'es themself, so to speak.
This is the 5th year Miss Calypso is being held, and just like in real life we're crowning next years miss, so this time its Miss Calypso 2009 that will be crowned.

My own history with Miss Calypso have been a long one.

When Miss Calypso was first held in 2003 I was a mere noob, but already hitting the fashion scene hard. I just didnt know, at the time, that there was a actual community for it inside what was then known as Project Entropia.
I didnt attend that year, although I might have done if I wasn't so sceptical at the time. Singular (the event organizer) approched me on the street in Port Atlantis, opened a chat and said something akin to "Hi there ;) You look great, you should enter my fashion competition".
I think I said "maybe" but thought "Freak!" and pretty much ran away. Well, all the girls learn that there is pervs on the internet, right?

In 2004 I had learned that Miss Calypso was a actual contest, and it had been won by sigge that year. Whoops, had I thought wrong. So I decided, why not try out for the next one. I did, Roulette won.. but I came second. In 2004 I had marked myself a little more in the game, and alot more on the fashion scene.

The next one I was determined to win.
I stacked up on red and white paint for half a year before I got my master coat colored by Sarah. This was the first major item colored red, and nobody had seen such a piece before. I made it one month before Miss Calypso was scheduled, but I kept it secret all that time. It was so incredibly hard, you cant imagine! I secretly wore it while hunting, and took it off as soon as a green dot hit the radar.
I also made myself a Dark Blue evening gown, which was a very rare and expensive color back before the paint stack change. Hell, I even rehearsed my scene-routine! I was ready.
And I won.

That year I did charity noob-work quite alot with my new found Miss-title. I did teleporter-runs and small events, the most memorable perhaps being the "Skamta Claus Xmas Giveaway" one, where me and my santa helpers hid lots of items for several 100's of peds worth in town, and then released the noobs to run and find them. It was alot of fun, and a tradition Ive kept going since.

The next Miss C I decided to skip. I didnt want to defend my (non-existing) crown, but rather let someone else try it out.  So I acted as a judge, and fell for Violet's unique look. She was a worthy Miss, and I was almost feeling a little proud to have such a great successor. Weird how it works, no? I also judged on the male equilent to the pageant, He-Man. I've been a judge there for I think most of the years it have been running.

Last year I wasnt sure if I was going to go or not. I felt a little like my name had been used up and that I was sort of overexposed, as I had gotten alot of attention. I felt like a combination of "old hag" and "veteran", and didnt think that the runway was the right place for me, even if my pixelbutt was ever so good-looking. I hadn't really prepared anything because of that, but I wanted some friends of mine to go and it would help if I went then. And if I was going to go anyway, then hell -Id prove momma got style still.
So I ended up on second place again, which I was happy with. Not too much exposure, but still proved I could still strut my stuff.

After that I decided Id leave the runway for good.
I joined up with Singular in organizing the event, and since Hurrikane had gotten the jackets for WoF, I thought it wouldnt hurt to try to get that crown and sash we always wanted for the pageant.

Now, when Im finally off the runway, we might get it. But Im happy about it, very happy.  :)

Oh, The Fashion!

For those of you who is scandinavian, and particulary swedish, you might know who "Blondinbella" is. For those of you who don't, she is/was the most popular swedish blogger. Being 17 yr old, pretty and successful, she blogged about world changing issues such as clothing, make-up, trends and the like...

She's also made quite a fortune on her blog from ads, and she is constantly sent products to her home so she can write about it in her blog and thus advertising for the products.
Sneaky, sneaky marketing!

Personally I would never do that of course.
Unless... *Looks at Freyr and Etopia*
